LF-090
The LF-090 Pirate Captain Lantern conjures the romance of the high seas with a swashbuckling captain caught in a moment of lookout. The figure stands on a barrel-and-crate base, wearing a tricorn hat, a long red-and-gold coat with brass buttons, dark breeches and buckled boots, with a spyglass raised to his eye in the classic pose. His coat glows in deep red with gold trim, the hat is finished with a small plume, and the spyglass carries a bright LED highlight that draws the eye to his face. A sash, cutlass hilt and pocket details are modelled with the precision of Zigong's silk-and-steel lantern craft. Weatherproof to IP65 and rated for 50,000 hours, this illuminated figures centrepiece brings adventure and storybook charm to harbour festivals, pirate-themed parks and family entertainment zones, and its theatrical pose makes it one of the most expressive pieces in any display.

The pirate can be produced from 2.5 to 6.5 metres in height, and the pose can be the classic spyglass lookout, a sword-raised battle stance, or a jaunty standing pose with hands on hips. The coat colour can be red, blue, black or green, and accessories can include a parrot on the shoulder, a treasure chest, a ship's wheel or an anchor prop. LED programs include steady warm gold, a two-tone red-and-gold scheme, or a slow colour breath; the spyglass can be fitted with a bright pulsing light. Optional features include a sound module with sea shanties or gull cries, a mist base for a foggy harbour feel, and motion-activated brightening. The figure ships in head, body, arms, hat and base modules, with the spyglass packed in a dedicated cradle.
The Pirate Captain Lantern suits harbour festivals, pirate-themed parks, nautical attractions, family entertainment zones, halloween light show trails, resort beachfronts and the adventure areas of amusement parks. It pairs naturally with the Lighthouse Lantern to create a coastal scene, and it is a favourite photo companion for children in costume. Cruise terminals and waterfront restaurants use it to add storybook character to their surroundings.
Our team ships and installs this piece worldwide, and every order includes engineering drawings, a certified installation plan and on-site technical supervision. As a custom lanterns specialist from Zigong — the home of Chinese lantern art — we have supplied giant lanterns for sale to theme parks, zoos, shopping malls, city squares and cultural festivals across more than 40 countries since 2002.
The pirate's barrel-and-crate base spreads the load, so a level foundation of about 2.2 m × 2.2 m with anchor bolts set to the template is recommended. Assembly takes one to two days: the base props are set, then the legs, torso and coat, followed by the head, hat and arms, and finally the spyglass is mounted. The coat panels are fitted so the folds sit naturally, and the hat plume is attached last. Electrical connection is a single IP65 base feed with fused, earthed circuits; the coat and spyglass loops are separate for independent control. A dusk sensor and timer control the schedule. Weekly checks cover the spyglass bracket, the coat fixings and the anchor bolts; the fabric is cleaned with a soft brush. The spyglass and hat plume are inspected after high-wind days, and spare modules are supplied. LED modules are serviceable through a zippered panel at the back of the coat. At season's end the figure is de-rigged in reverse order, with the head, hat and spyglass stored in protective crates for reuse.
The pirate captain's expressive pose and storybook charm make it a strong draw for family audiences, increasing dwell time and photo opportunities that drive social sharing. It strengthens the narrative of pirate and harbour-themed zones, helping venues build immersive experiences that support themed food, games and retail. Educationally, it offers a colourful starting point for stories of maritime history, navigation and the folklore of the age of sail, which children's programmes can build activities around. Its theatrical design photographs exceptionally well from multiple angles, and its modular build with re-skinable coat colours protects the investment across many seasons of festivals and themed events.
