Customization Options
Every Giant Panda Lantern can be tailored before production begins. Choose overall size from 2 m to 6 m in height, adjust the pose between sitting, standing and bamboo-chewing versions, and select the LED colour temperature from warm white to neutral daylight. Motion options are also available: a gently swaying head, blinking eyes or a slow colour-breathing effect can be added for visitor engagement. Site Preparation
Before installation, select a level, well-drained location with firm ground that can support the panda's base footprint plus the weight listed in the specification table. Concrete pads or paver bases are recommended for larger sizes, and a grounded power outlet within 10 metres of the sculpture simplifies cable routing. For outdoor zoo lantern display use, keep the base above flood level and allow a clearance zone of at least 1.5 metres around the sculpture for safe public access and maintenance access.
Installation
Our lanterns ship in modular steel-frame sections with numbered joints, so assembly can be completed on site by two technicians in roughly half a day for standard sizes. Erect the frame on the prepared base, bolt the sections together with the supplied galvanised hardware, then drape and fasten the silk panels using the pre-stitched ties. Connect the LED harness to the terminal box, apply the main power and run a short function test of all lighting circuits before opening to the public. Detailed drawings and an installation manual accompany every shipment.
Maintenance
Maintenance is deliberately low-effort. Wipe silk panels with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and pollen, inspect the frame bolts every three months, and check that the waterproof cable glands remain sealed after heavy storms. LED modules are field-replaceable, and we supply spare drivers and bulbs with each order. At the end of the display season, the sculpture can be partially dismantled and stored indoors, extending its service life across multiple seasons.
